The Webster Women's Lacrosse Club has awarded over 30 "Scholar Athlete" scholarships over the past 8 years. It is a great pleasure for the WWLC to have proudly recognized Webster's young women who have demonstrated their accomplishments in school, on the lacrosse field, and in our community. (See below for a list of past winners).
Scholarship details and criteria (new as of Fall 2014):
One $500.00 scholarships per school, per year at the discretion of the board.
Volunteer hours performed within WWLC:
2015 class – 10 hours
2016 class - 20 hours
2017 class - 30 hours
2018 and after classes - 40 hours.
(Average of 10 hours per year. The 40 hours applies to each subsequent class (2019, 2020, etc.)
Webster Thomas or Webster Schroeder High School Female Senior
Maintains a High School grade point average of 80 or better
Will have played at least 2 years (including the senior year) on a High School Varsity Girls Lacrosse Team
Completed required youth lacrosse program volunteer hours required
Submit an essay (no more than 500 words) describing “How do you feel lacrosse programs had an impact on your life?
Enrolled as a full-time student in a 2 or 4 year college in the upcoming fall.
Applicants will keep track of their hours and supervisor signatures. To be handed in senior year along with their application and qualifying essay. Forms download links are further down on this page.
Scholarship coordinators will send out criteria to coaches through e-mail to forward on as a notification in late May/early June of each year.
Qualifying applicants essays will be reviewed by the opposing schools coordinator. Each coordinator will narrow the field to three essays per school. At that time they will be given to the board which will then select the outstanding applicant per school.
A board member will present the award at each schools award assembly held in the spring
